Service: The Afripace website, courses, freelancing marketplace, instructor/affiliate portal, and communication channels (e.g., WhatsApp groups).

When you join Afripace WhatsApp/Telegram groups or channels, your phone number, profile name, and messages are visible to other members. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal or financial information in group chats. Your participation implies consent to group visibility. You may request removal at any time.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it only as needed to provide the service:
Instructors receive limited data (student names, course progress, certifications) to facilitate teaching. They are bound by our Instructor Agreement and must protect your information.
Freelancers ↔ Clients:
Freelancers see client project requirements and contact info.
Clients see freelancer profiles, portfolios, and reviews.
Affiliates: Receive referral performance data (e.g., user’s name, transaction amount).
Payment Providers such as Flutterwave, Paystack, MTN Mobile Money, M-Pesa, and others securely process transactions. Afripace does not store your card or account numbers.
Analytics & Marketing Tools like Google Analytics and Facebook/Instagram Ads help us improve the Service and personalize outreach.
Hosting & Infrastructure: Data is stored on secure platforms such as AWS, with encryption and access control.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required under African or international laws, court order, or regulatory authorities (e.g., per Ghana’s Data Protection Act, Nigeria’s NDPA, or South Africa’s POPIA).
Project Data: Messages, files, and payment details exchanged via Afripace are stored securely. Avoid sharing sensitive data (e.g., passwords) outside the platform.
Disputes: We may review project records to resolve conflicts.
Tracking Links: Affiliates use unique URLs/cookies to track referrals.
Commissions: Paid via third-party gateways; we retain records for tax compliance.
Promotional Rules: Affiliates must comply with our Affiliate Program Terms.

2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) encouraged for instructors and admins
Student and Instructor Accounts: Retained for 2 years after last activity.
Affiliate data: 2 years post-termination for tax/audit purposes.
Freelancer/Client project data: 1 year after project completion.
Usage Data: Retained for up to 12 months for security and analytics.
After retention, data is anonymized or securely deleted, unless we are required by law to keep it longer.
Some data may be transferred to or stored on servers outside your country (e.g., AWS in the EU or US). We apply legal safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and ensure adequate data protection in line with applicable privacy laws.
