Last updated October 30, 2026
Welcome to Afripace (“we”, “our” or “us”), the online learning platform built to empower Africans through digital skills, mindset growth and personal development. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your information when you use the Service, whether you are a student, an instructor or applicant, a member who shares an affiliate link, a visitor or a follower of our WhatsApp channel. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here; our terms of use set out the other rules. We do not sell your information, and we do not use advertising trackers.

Key definitions
- Service: the Afripace website and app, its courses, the AI Academy and AI Tools pages, the instructor application, affiliate links and our WhatsApp channel.
- Personal data: information that identifies you directly or indirectly, such as your name, email address or phone number.
- Usage data: technical information collected automatically, such as IP address and browser type.
- Data controller: Afripace Ltd, which decides why and how personal data is processed.
- Data processor: a company that processes personal data on Afripace's behalf, such as our host or email provider.
Information we collect
A. Students and members
- Account: your email address, your name if you give it, your language, and your password, which our sign-in provider stores in a form no one at Afripace can read.
- Purchases: your WhatsApp number with its country code, the payment method, the number and reference you paid with, the amount and the date. For card payments, Paystack tells us the payment succeeded; we never receive your card number.
- Learning: the lessons you complete, your certificates and the name printed on them.
- Affiliate programme: your affiliate code, the purchases made through it and what you have earned.
B. Instructors and applicants
- Applications: your name, email address, WhatsApp number, field, links to your work and your answers.
- Instructors: contact details, professional bio, Mobile Money or bank details for payouts, tax identification where required, and course content and statistics.
C. WhatsApp channel
The number you leave to join our channel, the channel's language and the page you joined from.
D. Collected automatically
- Server logs: IP address, browser type and device information, kept by our host for security.
- Sign-ins: when you sign in, kept by our sign-in provider.
- Anonymous counts: how many visits, course views, free-lesson plays and orders happen each day. These counts contain nothing about who you are.
- No advertising trackers: we do not use the Meta Pixel, Google Analytics or similar tools.
How we use your information
- Students: to give you access to your courses, keep your progress, issue certificates and let others check them, and help you when you need it.
- Payments: to check payments, open courses and contact you about an order, by email or WhatsApp.
- Accounts: to send sign-in links and messages about your account.
- Instructors: to review applications, reply to them and pay instructors.
- Affiliate programme: to track purchases made through affiliate links and pay earnings.
- WhatsApp channel: to send you to our channel and keep a list of who joined it.
- All users: to improve the Service, protect it against fraud and abuse, and meet our legal and accounting duties.
WhatsApp channel and groups
Our WhatsApp channel is a one-way broadcast: WhatsApp does not show followers' phone numbers to the channel's admins or to other followers. The number you leave on our form is stored by Afripace to send you there.
In a WhatsApp group, your phone number, profile name and messages are visible to the other members, so avoid sharing sensitive personal or financial information there. You may ask us to remove your number at any time.
Sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the Service:
- Instructors: may learn how many students take their course, but not your contact details.
- Members who share a link: see how many purchases came through their link and what they earned, never who made them.
- Certificates: a certificate shows its name, course and date to anyone who has its number.
- Payments: Mobile Money operators and Paystack process payments. Afripace does not store card numbers.
- Hosting and infrastructure: Supabase (database and sign-in, servers in Ireland), Vercel (website hosting) and Resend (emails), with encryption and access control.
- Videos: lessons play through YouTube (Google), which may collect information under its own privacy policy when you play a video.
- WhatsApp (Meta): handles your information under its own privacy policy when you follow our channel.
- Legal compliance: we may disclose information when required by law, a court order or a regulator, for example under Ghana's Data Protection Act, Nigeria's NDPA or South Africa's POPIA.
Affiliate links
- Tracking: when you arrive through someone's affiliate link, a cookie keeps their code for 90 days so that a purchase can be credited to them.
- Earnings: records of earnings and payouts are kept for tax and accounting purposes.
- Rules: members who share a link must follow the affiliate programme terms.
Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) and encrypted storage.
- Access rules inside the database itself: each member can reach only their own information, and only a few admins can see orders.
- Access limited to authorised people.
- Card payments handled by a PCI-DSS compliant provider.
- Monitoring of the Service for abuse and fraud.
Data retention
- Accounts: kept while you use them and for 2 years after your last activity.
- Payments and affiliate earnings: kept as long as accounting and tax rules require.
- Certificates: kept so they can still be checked, unless you ask us to delete them.
- Applications and WhatsApp channel numbers: kept until you ask us to delete them.
- Usage data: kept for up to 12 months for security and statistics. Anonymous counts may be kept longer, as they say nothing about you.
When a period ends, the information is deleted or made anonymous, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
Transfers abroad
Your information is stored in the European Union (Ireland) and may be handled by providers in other countries, such as the United States. We rely on legal safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, so that your information stays protected in line with the privacy laws that apply.

- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data.
- Withdraw your consent, for example to leave our WhatsApp channel list.
- Object to or restrict processing.

- Ghana, Nigeria (NDPA), South Africa (POPIA), Kenya and other countries: your local privacy rights are respected.
Children's privacy
Afripace is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you are under 16, you may only use the Service with the permission of a parent or guardian. We delete information collected from a minor by mistake when asked.
Cookies and storage on your device
Afripace uses cookies and similar storage to:
- Keep you signed in.
- Remember your language.
- Remember an affiliate code for 90 days, when you arrive through someone's affiliate link.
- Remember, in your browser only, your light or dark display choice, where you stopped in each video, and whether you closed the install-the-app message.
We use no advertising or social media tracking cookies. You can clear cookies and stored data in your browser settings at any time.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will tell you by email or on the Service. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept it.
